Spring Break on the Bluff: Gardening

Hallo, Frühling! Spring is in the air at Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill, and what better way to celebrate a break from school than outdoors at the sites! Come up to the Bluff from March 11-19 and take part in one of our many crafts and activities. Each day will include a different educational activity.

Gardening: Historically, Josepha Kreische, her hired helper, and the children would have kept a thriving garden near the Kreische house on the Bluff, as was a common practice for family homes at the time.

Learn more about the herbs and plants commonly found in these family gardens from the late 1800s. Bring your green thumb and plant some seeds on your own. After learning proper care for your new plant, take it home and watch it grow!
