  What’s cooking in the Kreische kitchen? 

  In celebration of the upcoming America 250, join us for tasty demonstrations celebrating America’s unique and multicultural food history from 19th-century Fayette County. 

  This month’s program will focus on a German-Texas inspired menu, including sausage in the smokehouse, hearty German soup, and a home-baked treat made on our wood-burning stove. Chat with our living history interpreters, tour the house, and take in all the delicious smells.

  Join us for La Grange’s annual Holiday Extravaganza and Lights Display! 

  Fröhe Weihnachten! From decorations to food and music, the earliest German settlers to Texas brought their holiday customs with them. These traditions come to life each December during Trail of Lights and Festival Nights at Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites. These events feature ten nights to walk along the trail to enjoy lighted displays with family and friends. 

  Join us for even more excitement on our Festival Nights (Dec. 12 & 13, 19-21) for live music, living history, holiday refreshments, family activities, visits with Santa, and more.
