Memories of Monument Hill

A Lantern-Led Theatrical Experience

Immerse yourself in the story of the Dawson and Mier Expeditions over 170 years after the events took place. Experience the turbulent times of the Republic of Texas era and the Monument Hill story, performed in five theatrical scenes based on historical records and documents.

Lantern Tours is an inaugural performance in collaboration with Fayette County Community Theater. Ticket sales will benefit education, preservation, and community involvement. For one night only, experience the Monument Story as you've never heard it before.


These Lantern Tours are a nighttime, guided walk on our bluff trail. The length of the tour is approximately one hour.

FAQ

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students (6-17) and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased above. We don't anticipate tickets will be available at the door. 


Capacity is limited. To ensure that we have an accurate headcount, please secure a ticket for every member of your party, including those 5 and under.

Where will this be performed?

The performance will roughly follow our 1/2-mile historic bluff trail, which consists of gravel paths in some areas and steep slopes and stairs in other areas. Dress and plan accordingly.


This program is not suitable for strollers, walkers, or wheelchairs.

What should I bring?
Flashlights or phones will be necessary. Tours will be at nighttime with little lighting along the pathway. Close-toed shoes are also highly recommended.
Will there be concessions?

Yes. Our community partner, Fayette County Community Theater, will be selling popcorn and drinks throughout the event.
